Skeet & Trap Information

Walton Park sports two combination skeet and trap fields, one of which is lighted for evening shooting, and a trap only field which can support double trap.

Open shoots are held on Sunday, starting at noon, and on Wednesday evenings starting around 5:30 p.m. Any IWLL member may participate in these open shoots. If you are not familiar with these shotgun shooting sports don't hesitate to stop by one of these open shoots and ask for help. You'll find plenty of more experienced shooters willing to get you started.

By attending a class on gun safety and proper operation of the target throwers a Park member can gain access to these fields during other hours. Cost for Park members and their guests is $3.00 per round of 25 targets.

Registered Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) shoots are held monthly, typically on the first Saturday of the month. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and shooting starts at 10:00 a.m. Courses of fire include 16-yard, handicap, and doubles. Cost is $16.00 per 100 targets and you must be a member of the ATA to participate. If you are not currently an ATA member you can join by clicking on the link to the right and exploring all that an ATA membership has to offer.
